WSOP-C Caesars Atlantic City – Day 1 Report

The
WSOP-C’s Caesars Atlantic City event squeezed both its first day 1 flights into a single day on Saturday. It took the field 9 levels of action to play down to the end of the day. When the action was called, the player standing at the top in possession of the largest stack was Benedetto Bianco, who finished with 174.6k chips to his name.
Benedetto had a mighty fine Day 1 run indeed: his finishing stack was quite a bit bigger than that of runner-up Gregory Mitchell, who had 118.9k chips bagged. Mitchell had an awesome day too though, and given that upon their return, players will start off at the 400/800/100 level, he too will have plenty of ammo to throw his weight around at the tables. Mitchell finished Day 1B with the largest stack, becoming the only player to take home more than 100k chips from that flight.
Although Bianco and Mitchell cannot really be called “high profile” players, the “name” crowd was represented at the top too, through two-times WSOP-C champion Gary Bolden, who locked up 5th spot with a stack of 107.1k chips. Micah Raskin, another WSOP-C regular, finished 6th with 106.6k chips to his name.
Patrick Houchins, Leo Walker and Harry Korotki finished with 6-figure stacks too. Korotki’s 106k chips were enough to clinch 7th place for him. No one else managed to cross the 100k chip mark.
Christian Harder played in the
poker tournament too and even though he survived, he finished with 64.4k chips only, nowhere near the front-runners. Other notables who earned day 2 seats were Matt Glantz and Lee Childs.
Kyle Bowker on the other hand wasn’t as lucky: he was bounced, together with Roland Israelashvili and Chris Reslock.
A total of 270 players survived the two day 1 flights.
