WSOP-C Choctaw Main Event – Jeff Fielder Wins

The WSOP-C’s Choctaw Main Event played down to a winner the other day. Jeff Fielder was the one who managed to finish the final day of the poker tournament with all the chips in play piled up in front of him. Fielder picked up $312k for his efforts, a gold ring, as well as a ticket to an upcoming major.
Fielder bested Matt Kirby heads-up. The runner-up’s share of the prize-pool was a $192.7k one.
15 players returned to the tables at the beginning of the last day of action. The day kicked off on the right foot as three players bit the dust before the first level concluded. Lee Abramson and John Wood were the next two to head to the rail. The one responsible for Abramson’s elimination was Jeff Fielder. When the chips went into the middle, Abramson had a 4-card flush against Fielder’s made set of 8s with an A kicker. Fielder managed to dodge his opponent’s outs and he scored an elimination.

The official final table bubble-boy was Brant Hale. He got his last chips into the middle on a pair of Js against Bryan Companello’s Ac, Qc. While he failed to catch a flush, Companello made a pair of Qs on the river to set the final table.
Doug Ashmore was the first one to be sent home from the final table. Paul Phillips bit the dust as well, sent to the rail by Matt Kirby. Cliff Stewart was eliminated a few hands later as well, ending up in 7th place. One of the previous chip leaders, Drazen Ilich, was the first player to hit the rail after the break.
Kirby was the one who had the chip lead when the heads-up stage of the action commenced. The last hand saw Kirby’s Ah, Qh fall to Fielder’s pocket 4s.
