WSOP-C Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Main Event – Day 2 Report

The WSOP-C’s Harvey’s Lake Tahoe stop has been in progress for almost a week now. This weekend, the Main Event finally kicked off. There were two day 1 flights, Day 1A and Day 1B, which yielded a starting field of 416 entrants, fulfilling the organizers’ predictions that the poker tournament would break last year’s record. Players can still register at the beginning of the second day of action, although such late registration would probably mean that they would start with an extremely short stack. Still, at least in theory, buy-ins may still get added to the prize-pool.
Day 1A saw 106 players pull through. These players were joined by the 60 Day 1B survivors. Bisuil Hoxhaj will start Day 2 with the largest stack. Other players who finished with massive stacks were Robert Hancock and Jeff Rubie.

Robert Hancock has indeed had quite a day: he took the fight to some of the bigger stacks at his table and his relentless aggression paid off. John Song was the chip leader for a while during the early stages of the Day 1A action. Hancock tangled with him in one hand in which he managed to make him tag along all the way to the river, only to fold there. Song’s fold was an inspired one nonetheless, as Hancock turned out to be holding a club flush.
Ryan Olisar finished with a more than decent stack as well. He had a pretty up and down day though on his way to large stack status. At one point, he lost a major pot to an opponent who had pocket 7s. On the very next hand, he picked up the pocket 7s though and he doubled up himself.
He finished the day with more than 111k chips.
