WSOP-C Cincinnati – Brad Albrinck Wins

The Horseshoe Cincinnati played host to the main event of the WSOP-C’s third 2013 stop. The $1,675 tournament drew a starting field of 740 players to the tables, and it took three days for that field to play down to a winner. The eventual winner was Brad Albrinck, who took home $221.9k for his efforts. In addition to the prize-money, Albrinck also secured his presence in the National Championship event, which takes place at the end of the season. Albrinck wasn’t the only one to qualify for the National Championship in Cincinnati: Sam Panzica won two events in Cincinnati and he thus clinched the Casino Championship title, earning a National Championship seat as well.

The final day of the Main Event saw 15 players return to the tables of the Horseshoe Cincinnati. 6 players had to be sent packing before the official final table was reached, but the field got there soon enough. Once the home stretch of the poker tournament was reached though, things froze up and it took nearly 4 hours for the first player to bite the dust. Greg Kolo was the one who kicked off the betting game in the hand which eventually broke the ice. He got out of the way though, leaving Kevin McColgan and Albrinck to duke it out. As it turned out, McColgan had an Ac, Kc against Albrinck’s pocket Ks and the former headed to the rail with a prize of $20.9k.

Rory Monahan bit the dust in 8th place. He was followed to the rail by Ray Attiyah in 7th and Aaron Steury in 6th.
Josh Williams went out in 5th place, followed by Viet Vo in 4th. Greg Kolo’s elimination in 3rd place set up the heads-up stage of the event.
The player Albrinck bested for the title was David Kash, who picked up a $136.8k prize.
