WSOP-E Main Event - Day 2 Report

The second day of the World Series of Poker Europe's Main Event saw the field play down to the final 65, out of an original starting field of 313 players. The prize-pool the remainder of the field is still battling for is some €3.064 million. Dzmitry Urbanovich was the one who finished the second day of action with the biggest stack. The beginning of the day saw 184 players return to the tables and despite the progress that was made, there are still 33 players among the survivors who will end up with zilch to show for their efforts.
Urbanovich, who finished with 374.8k chips to his name, played well through the day and he had Lady Luck's backing too. He busted players left and right, and it wasn't just the rank-and-file crowd that bore his wrath: among his victims were "name" competitors like reigning EPT Malta champion Jean Montury, who was sent packing while holding K,Jo, which fell to Urbanovich's pocket Js.

Another one of Urbanovich's victims was Georgios Karakousis, whose A,K fell to the pocket rockets of the chip leader.
JC Alvarado finished with a healthy stack as well: he ended up in second place, with 365.3k chips. From among the name competitors, Ola Amundsgard and Erik Seidel made the top 10 too. They ended up in 6th and 10th places respectively.
John Juanda was one of the victims of the day. He was joined on the rail by Jonathan Duhamel, Sergio Aido, Roberto Romanello and Stephen Chidwick. Brian Hastings on the other hand remained in contention and he will thusly get a chance to overtake Mike Gorodinsky (who was eliminated) in the WSOP Player of the year race.
