WSOPC Indiana Day 2 Report

Day 2 of the WSOP’s Southern Indiana Circuit Event was an extremely swift affair. 27 players took to the tables as play began, and 5 hours later the final table was already set.
Pat Madden became the first casualty of the day, as he got bounced by Brian Sapp who was once again in an excellent shape.
Madden went up against Sapp on A,Q, and got drawn into an all-in with Sapp who held a pair of 10s. The board came J,6,2,5,5 and Madden was done.

Kenny Hicks and Jamin Stokes got into a battle over a large pot later on. Hicks held an A,K and decided it was strong enough to move all-in on, over Stokes’ re-raise. The board landed J,5,Q,5,9 and Stokes tabled a pair of Kings for the win. This hand sent Hicks to the rail and put Stokes in the chip lead for a while.

The Kopacz family, David and Stacey, had been the hits of Day 1, and although David managed hang on to his large stack and finish the day near the top of the chip leader board, Stacey wasn’t so lucky. She got into a tangle with Samuel Oberlin, a confrontation which would leave her stack a shadow of its former self.
Holding an A,K, Oberlin went all-in preflop. Stacy Kopacz tabled a pair of Kings for the scare as the board fell: 8,9,2,4. Just when it looked like Oberlin’s day was over, an A landed on the flop giving him a bigger pair and doubling him up at the expense of Stacey Kopacz who busted out just a few hands later, unable to hold off an onslaught by Len Ashby.

Both the final table and the money bubble were on 10th place, and quite naturally nobody wanted to finish 10th. The dubious honor eventually befell Bob Cole, who shoved all-in preflop on Ac,5c only to be called by Samuel Oberlin with an A,K. The board came A,Q,10,J,J and thus Cole burst both bubbles.

The final table participants are: Samuel Oberlin (in the chip lead with 229,500), Jamin Stokes, Len Ashby, David Kopacz, Jerry Martin, Joey Couden, Derek Whelan, Dean Schultz and Ray Lynn.
