Social gaming buff Zynga has been struggling to gain traction for some of its creations lately, but that did not deter them from following through on their promise to begin offering real money
online poker games. The company has just announced the launch of Zynga Poker Plus the other day in the UK. The site uses the PartyPoker software and the Zynga Poker Plus clients will play in the
PartyPoker player pool. Zynga have struck an agreement with bwin.party Digital Entertainment plc a while ago and now they have moved in the planned direction. Besides PartyPoker’s players, Zynga Poker Plus customers will be able to lock horns at the green felt with players from bwin, Gamebookers and WPT Poker.
Even more importantly, those who’ll be playing in Zynga’s poker room will be able to participate in pretty much all the network-wide promotions run by PartyPoker. The VIP reward scheme used by the new site is the same as PartyPoker’s Palladium VIP as well.
The launching of the
online poker room wasn’t Zynga’s only foray into real money online gaming either. Tied to the poker operation, there’s an online casino as well: ZyngaPlusCasino already offers a rich selection of online slots (160 different games), as well as roulette, baccarat and blackjack. Available at the site is the first ever Farmville-themed online slot game too.
According to Zynga’s Barry Cottle, his company’s long-term goal is to offer top of the line real money online games across multiple platforms, in all the regulated markets world-wide. Responsible gaming is apparently one of the top priorities of Zynga, a fact that would explain their partnership with bwin, an online gaming operator which has dedicated serious funding to the studying and prevention of problem gambling.
