Qualify Online to the European Poker Tour 2013 - EPT 10 Barcelona Stop

The EPT’s Barcelona stop, the opening one of the 10th season of the Tour, is already in the books. Having played host to 35 different events, including the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event, the Barcelona stop turned out to be the largest European Poker Tour opener in history. The Estrellas Main Event itself drew a record starting field, testimony to the popularity of the EPT 2013. There were two high rollers at the stop too, a “regular” €10k one, and a €50k Super High Roller.

The highlight of the stop was the Main Event of course. Taking place in the usual venue, the Casino Barcelona, the Main Event was won by one of the online qualifiers, who had earned his seat through PokerStars: Tom Middleton. Middleton took home more than €1 million for his efforts. In fact, it is safe to say that the final table of the poker tournament was pretty much dominated by PokerStars qualifiers: 3rd place finisher Kresten Nielsen and 4th place man Luca Fiorini had made their way to Barcelona through PokerStars too.

Besides the EPT Main Event, there were plenty of other opportunities for players to get in on the European Poker Tour 2013 Barcelona action. There were several NL Holdem Turbo events, several PLO ones and a bunch of live satellites for the Main Event, for those who failed to take advantage of PokerStars’ online offer in this respect.

Everything accounted for, including the two high rollers, the Main Event and the various side events, the Season 10 stop of the EPT Barcelona turned out to be a resounding success. Starting fields were huge, prize pools were lavish and the action itself was second to none. Players could buy into the Main Event directly through PokerStars too, and there were indeed quite a few who took this path to the Casino Barcelona.
