Absolute Poker is one of those poker rooms, which actually benefited from the turmoil produced by the UIGEA. They’ve been able to allow US players since Oct 2007, and thus they attracted a large percentage of the American players who were forced to leave the other poker rooms which no longer put up with their presence.
The problem-issue for Absolute has always been their software, which, despite looking good, has had some performance issues on slower systems. They are however, very keen to listen to what their players suggest, in order to continuously improve their operation.
Player traffic is good, and the fish-factor is strangely good at the middle stakes tables and much worse on small stakes ones, because there are apparently plenty of good players there, multi-tabling, in order to unlock their bonuses or generate as much rake as possible.
Yes, that’s right, it is in the interest of players to generate rake, as Absolute Poker features a nice rakeback offer too.

Player-traffic wise, Party Poker is, beyond doubt, the biggest and most important online poker room. It had also been considered the one that was the “fishiest” too, until rumors started to surface stating that the fish-pool at Party Poker was beginning to dry out. I can’t elaborate on speculations any further, all I can do is serve you the facts: there are around 80,000 players on Party Poker on a weekend night, and if you tell me that there aren’t enough fish among that many online poker players, I must say, there’s something seriously wrong with things then… It’s either that suddenly everyone’s learned to play like a pro, or that you are bigger than average fish yourself. Anyway, the fish factor has represented Party Poker’s biggest attraction for years, and voices suggesting that it’s no longer what it used to be, are probably just trying to create hype over nothing. You’ll find about 40,000 people at Party Poker’s tables during weekdays as well, so I suppose all you have to do is look hard enough and pay attention to table selection, and you’ll be all right.

Titan Poker is a pretty large poker room, which offers a good match on your first deposit (more than a 100%, currently). It is known for its stiff graphics, and good, low buy-in tourneys. Indeed, if you’re looking for high-buyin, high-prize pool tournaments, Titan may not be the place to come to, but if you have limited funds at your disposal (like most poker players do) you’ll love it here. Besides the regular tourneys, you’ll find tons of satellites and sub-satellites, as well. About the level of competition at Titan: it’s not supposed to be particularly stiff or loose, either. Reviewers usually agree that there are some pretty good poker players playing in there, but with a little luck, you’ll find your fish, too. I must be the luckiest person on earth in this respect, because, whenever I played at Titan I happened upon some fairly loose tables with some pretty good value in them. It’s also been said that the software is buggier than what you’ll find in other poker rooms. On my part, I cannot confirm that. Everything seemed OK when I played there.
