The very first (alpha) version of PokerStars’ much-hyped new software known as PokerStars 7 has been presented to the public at the EPT’s San Remo stop a couple of weeks ago. The update represents the 7th iteration of the PokerStars software in its 10 years of existence.
With their presence secured in many of the newly regulated markets and preparing to make a more or less triumphant return to the US market too as soon as the legal situation allows it, PokerStars are obviously focused on expanding their dominance of the market and acquiring as many new players as possible. Hence, the new software is focused on beginners, aiming to make it as easy as possible for them to immerse themselves into the action at the virtual green felt. According to some
PokerStars officials, their current software – although oft-hailed for its outstanding features – is not exactly the most user-friendly
online poker client out there. That is what PokerStars 7 is meant to correct through a streamlined registration process which lands beginners in a “Quick Lobby” from where they can take a seat at the table at a single click of a mouse.
The most noticeable new feature of the lobby is an app-bar, displayed on the right-hand side, through which players can gain swift access to the My News, Tools, Help, and Profile sections among others.
Locating live event satellites will be a cinch through the new Quick Lobby too, through the “Live Events” tab. The information about the upcoming
poker tournaments is also a lot more intuitively displayed.
There will also be a map feature which will allow players to search for various events based on geographical location. The News area will contain information about the new promotions.
