2010 WSOP day 21 – Keikoan and Proulx earn bracelets

Day 21 of the 2010 WSOP will certainly be a day that Matt Keikoan and Miguel Proulx will remember forever. The reason is that the two players joined the rather exclusive club of
WSOP bracelet owners that day. Proulx proved his worth in the $2,500 PL Omaha event, in which he bested a select pool of competitors on his way to the title, the bracelet and the $315,311 prize.
The 3rd and final day of the event began with 12 players. The eliminations of Joe Serock, Matthew Reed and Dilyan Kovachev set up the official final table.
From that point on, all the way to the dinner break, only another player was sent to the rail. After dinner, the pace picked up a little, and Proulx must’ve had his spinach because he proved quite unstoppable. He eliminated 3 players in a row and then disposed of L.J. Klein for the win.
The other bracelet winner of the day was Matt Keikoan. He earned his 15 minutes (or rather more) of fame in the $10k Limit Holdem World Championship event. His job was much tougher than other bracelet winners’ as he had a large field of the best professional poker players in the world to wade through on his way to the title.
Full Tilt Poker’s Matt Hawrilenko, Greg Mueller, and the player considered the best in the world by many as far as limit Holdem is concerned, Terrence Chan, were all in the initial starting field. Keikoan disposed of Daniel Idema heads-up to grab the win.
Event #30, another $1,000 NL Holdem special, kept on rolling on day 21. The 3rd day of the poker tournament saw the starting field reduced to the final 21. Christopher Gonzales will start day 4 with the largest stack of chips.
Event #31, the $1,500 HORSE event, had an extremely tedious day 2. Robert Mizrachi is still alive in this one, looking to score a bracelet against the likes of Chip Jett, Al Barbieri and Cliff Josephy.
116 players managed to survive another day of action in the $5,000 short handed NL Holdem event (#32). With the money bubble set to 54th place in this
poker tournament, the action is likely to heat up seriously on day 3.
482 layers showed up for event #33, the $2,500 PLO one. Rami Boukai, the defending champ failed to make it past the first day of action. Daniel Negreanu was among those eliminated too, his bracelet quest still fruitless thus far.
