2011 WCOOP – Thomas Pedersen Wins Main Event

The 2011 PokerStars WCOOP is in the books and it’s time to count the prizes, the bracelets and the various other honors doled out by the 63 WCOOP events. Noah Boeken was one of the PokerStars pros who have managed to taste victory. Shane Schleger played extremely well too, together with Anders Berg, who managed to tie the all-time WCOOP bracelet record by winning his 3rd bracelet. The honor of Player-of-the-Series went to Joel Adam Gordon of Spain, who won a bracelet of his own and finished in the money in no fewer than 10 events. A player known as “Big_Nemo” accumulated 295 Player-of-the-Series points too, however Gordon made more money, and thus the tie was broken.

For his accomplishments, Gordon was richly rewarded with a bunch of entries to various high profile live events like the 2012 PCA, the EPT’s Grand Final and the SCOOP’s Main Event. The best was reserved for last though. The player to take down the biggest single prize of the Series was Denmark’s Thomas Pedersen, who won the Main Event, taking home a $1.2 million+ prize.
The $5k NL Holdem two-day event offered a guaranteed prize-pool of $5 million. The 1,627 registrants combined buy-ins to create a $8,135,000 prize-pool though. 22 levels of play went into day 1, at the end of which 167 players had earned to right to return on day 2.

On day 2, it took the field about 8 hours to play down to the 9-handed final table. The official final table was set when Vojtek Ruzicka’s pocket Qs pushed Kenny Hicks and his pocket 9s to the rail.
Thomas Pedersen, the eventual winner, was the one who started the final table with a massive chip lead.
The heads-up stage of the tournament saw Ruzicka lock horns with Pedersen. By that time though, the Dane had a 2-1 chip lead, which he took full advantage of.
The final hand of the event saw Ruzicka’s pocket 3s fall to Pedersen’s A,10.

How many people will it be? I aculltay also organize tournaments at my place but its usually not more than 10. But if that helps he use very simple rules and repeating how its being played online. Each round 20 min then the blinds increase. Start at 10/20 with the blinds. I guess that if you have more than 10 you need to think in a way to rebalance once more than 1 player is out of a table. You can always google it Good luck with your poker sessions and if you need a site that sponsor your poker campus ni
