2011 WSOP – Day 14 Wrap-Up

Day 14 of the 2011 WSOP saw a single bracelet awarded, the one in the $2.5k Limit Holdem 6-max event for which Kim Nguyen and Darren Woods battled heads-up. Nguyen was only the second woman to reach the heads-up stage of a WSOP event this year, unfortunately for her though, in the end it was Woods who secured the bling and the top prize.

Event #18, the $1.5 NL Holdem event, failed to play down to a winner yet again, despite the fact that only 34 players returned to action on Day 14 of the WSOP. The ten level rule was the one that stood in the way of another bracelet being awarded that day. The field managed to play down to the final table, but the action was stopped before the winner could hoist up the bracelet and pocket the top prize.
Allen Le was the one who started the final table with the largest stack. After 3 players were eliminated from the final table though, the day was called. In the end, it was Foster Hays who went to bed the chip leader. Allen Le made some bad decisions thanks to which he’ll start as the short stack on day 15.

Event #20, the second $1k NL Holdem one of the 2011 WSOP, saw 342 players return to the tables on its day 2. The money bubble burst shortly after the action kicked off. Mukul Pahuja became the unfortunate bubble-boy, his demise brought about by Eric Arat.
Jason Somerville managed to amass a stack of 749k chips to clinch the chip lead.

84 players returned to action in Event #21, the $10k Seven Card Stud World Championship Event, and some of them would sail right into the money. The last player who didn’t manage to pull off the feat was Tom McCormick, sent to the rail on the bubble by Men Nguyen.
2 more events kicked off on Monday: the $1,500 PLO event (#22) and the $2,500 8-Game Mix Event (#23). Several Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars pros registered for both.
