38 players returned to the tables on day 3 of the $10k PLO World Championship event, to play down to the final table and possibly even to the title. The first hurdle of the day was the money bubble though. Jyri Merivirta’s elimination quickly got that out of the way.
Felipe Ramos and Tristan Clemencon were both involved in the hand which saw the money bubble burst. Merivirta was the one who moved all-in on a flop of Ad,10h,8d. Ramos made the call and Clemencon stepped aside. The 2h on the turn didn’t really matter a lot but the Jh on the river gave Ramos a Broadway straight and the remaining field let out a sigh of relief as they landed in the money.
When the final table of the event was reached, Dario Alioto, Hans Winzeller, John Kabbaj and Josh Tieman were all still in the books.
Winzeller fell first, followed by Kabbaj and Alioto. The event failed to play down to a winner though. Ben Lamb will lead the 4 remaining players into the final day.
Full Tilt Poker’s Sami Kelopuro was among those survivors too.
The $1,500
NL Holdem event saw a massive field of 385 players return to its tables on its second day of action. The money bubble took about 2 levels to reach and it burst wide-open when Randall Bot was eliminated. Gavin Griffin, Eric Baldwin, James Mackey, Kathy Liebert and Erica Shoenberg all made the money but failed to advance deeper.
Byron Kaverman was the one who managed to amass 1.34 million chips by the end of the day to clinch the chip lead.
Event #44, the $2.5k Razz Event, saw 157 players belly up to the tables. The money bubble was set to 40th place and it was reached handily. Shawn Sheikhan, Chau Giang and Chris Viox all made the money. 23 players remained at the end of the day, with Tommy Chen leading the pack.
Event #45, the $1k NL Holdem event, drew a starting field 2,890 players. Mixed in with the fish, quite a few “name” players got their starts too, among them Phil Hellmuth, Hoyt Corkins, Matt Stout and Tom Dwan.
304 players remained in the books at the end of the day. Jonathan Lane built up the largest stack.
