Day 13 of the 2012
PokerStars SCOOP was as productive as any other day as far as ‘name’ player performances were concerned. Several of these high profile professionals had excellent days. Ami Barer for instance made two final tables, of which he managed to win one, adding a SCOOP title to his trophy-case. Kevin Tanner had a victory-crowned day as well. The biggest winner of the day was Faraz Jaka though: he took down event #33-H, pocketing a $173.7k prize.
The event that Jaka won was the $2,100 NL Holdem one re-buy and one add-on event, which drew a starting field of 175 players, most of them professionals. The resulting prize-pool shot past the $800k mark, well over the $500k guarantee. A total of 27 players finished inside the money bubble. Shyam Srinivasan was the bubble-boy. David Sands, the one responsible for his elimination, didn’t make it far in the event either: he faded away in 23rd place, collecting a $8k reward for his efforts. Shaun Deeb was playing in the event too, looking to extend his SCOOP domination, but he fell short this time, biting the dust in 12th place, for a little over $14k. Other notables to finish high were Bryn Kenney, Victoria Coren and Martin Finger.
Jaka started the final table 4th in chips, but he soon gained traction and scored the first elimination of the final table. From there on out, it was all a walk in the park for Jaka, who reached the heads-up stage of the
poker tournament holding a massive chip advantage over HC_68. He swung his large stack skillfully and made short work of his opponent’s stack. The runner-up picked up $125.2k for his efforts.
Kevin Tanner’s win came in the $215 NL Omaha Hi/Lo event. He took home $23.1k to go with his title, having bested Nico Fierro heads-up.
Ami Barer’s win came in the $27 NL Omaha Hi/Lo event and it was worth $11.5k.
