2013 Aussie Millions Main Event – Day 1B Report

The second day 1 flight of the Aussie Millions Main Event saw 196 players belly up to the tables. Frank Rusnak was the player who clinched the chip lead on Day 1B, having accumulated 165.1k chips. When the action was called, a little more than 100 of the initial starters were still alive.
Needless to say, the Day 1B starting field was loaded with “name” players too: Tyron Krost was one of these players. The 2010 winner of the Aussie Millions Main Event managed to punch his ticket to day 2, unlike the 2012 and 2011 winners, who both fell by the side on Day 1A. Neil Channing was another pro who made it into Day 2. He was seated at the same table as Krost, but the two big guns managed to avoid each-other.
PokerStars’ own Jason Mercier played as well and he too survived the day. He had 93k chips bagged at the end of the day.

While some players thrived, others struggled and ended up on the sidelines: Vanessa Selbst failed to make the cut. She was joined on the rail by Tobias Reinkemeier, Niklas Heinecker and Philipp Gruissem. Igor Kurganov, fresh off his $100k High Roller second place, managed to survive Day 1B too: he did so on a rather short stack though as he only had 13.6k chips bagged.
Kristian Lunardi was one of the local players who had the eyes of the press on them. Unfortunately, his performance was rather disappointing and he ended up biting the dust. Joel Feldman, another of the local boys, joined him on the rail.
Kenny Tran showed up to play in the poker tournament too: he too survived the day on a stack of 28.7k chips.
