888Poker Adds Villa-Lobos and Kawauti

Full Tilt Poker have been adding pros left and right the last couple of weeks, but apparently they weren’t the only online poker room expanding their roster. 888Poker have made two rather significant additions as well: those of Brazilian poker professionals Nicolau Villa-Lobos and Bruno Kawauti.
888Poker has been focusing on the Brazilian online poker market lately, which seems to have exploded in popularity in recent months. The two players will be sent to Brazilian live poker events to represent the 888 brand there, but they will rock the brand colors in various international events too.
What is there to know about the two players though? Kawauti’s claim to fame is his 15th place finish in this year’s WSOP Main Event, which meant that at one point he had been the last Brazilian standing. The deep run earned him a prize of $451.3k.
Villa-Lobos on the other hand, has a much richer online resume: he won PokerStars’ SCOOP Main Event, taking down $439k and he won the UKIPT’s Edinburgh main event for a $162k haul.
In 2012, he made his own
WSOP Main Event deep run, albeit his was not as successful as Kawauti’s: he made the top 100, picking up $88k for his 77th place.
Besides the two Brazilians, 888Poker have added a few more of the players who did well at this edition of the Big Dance: Jackie Glazier, who at one point was the last woman standing will also represent the brand. Their “top dog” addition was that of November Niner Jay Farber who still has a theoretical chance of going all the way in the big one and landing the title.
Kawauti said that he was looking forward to representing the 888 brand and that he was extremely pleased by the role 888Poker have assumed in regards to online poker in Brazil.
