A Second Look at the 2013 WSOP November Nine – Part 4

The November Nine are obviously among the hottest commodities in the poker/
online poker world these days. These guys have battled their way through a massive starting field to be able to return in November and play down to a winner in the
WSOP’s Main Event. Sylvain Loosli is one of the November Niners, and since we’re doing a rundown of the final table participants, we may as well begin with him.
While many of this year’s WSOP winners and deep finishers were experienced players, Loosli is making his first ever WSOP cash and it will definitely be a big one, that much we already know. Exactly how big it will be though is still up to Lady Luck and to the skills Loosli will be able to muster come November. He only started playing a couple of years ago, which makes his WSOP Main Event deep run even more impressive an accomplishment.
In those 2 years however, he managed to amass more than $2 million in profits, playing in various high stakes cash games and tournaments. Thus far, he has been more successful at the cash game tables: he only has a tournament cash to his name: a 24th place finish in one of the 2011
EPT Deauville side events, for a €2.35k reward.
Due to the precedents set by 2008 and 2009 champions Peter Eastgate and Joe Cada though, who went into the final stretch of the event on similarly unimpressive previous records, Loosli shouldn’t be discouraged in any way and he probably won’t be.
He has 19.6 million chips to his name, enough for 6th, and that means at least he won’t find himself under immediate pressure when the action kicks off.
Two of the shorter stacks will be on his immediate left, so he may be able to get something going early. Ryan Riess is another player on whom he has position and Riess played a pretty passive game on Day 7 too.
