After 3 separate day 1 flights, the ANZPT’s Queensland Snowfest Main Event had two day 2 flights scheduled. While only 87 players survived the first days’ hostilities, still two separate flights were held on day 2. The first one saw 43 players belly up to the tables. From this flight, 23 moved on to day 3, among them chip leader Michael Kanaan. Danny Chevalier and Ben Richardson had pretty tough days: both of them bit the dust on Day 2A. Andrew Hinrichsen, he of WSOP fame, was eliminated as well.
After Day 2A wrapped up, 44 more players stepped forth to take to the tables on Day 2B. 24 players survived from this field however the Day 2B chip leader failed to even come close to Kanaan’s leading stack. Leo Boxell bit the dust during the Day 2B hostilities.
PokerStars’ Roy Bhasin followed him to the rail.
The remaining 47 players were finally able to get together under one roof for the first time.
Jarred Graham may have made it this far, but he wasn’t able to fight his way through to Day 3. Nurlan Boobekov was the chip leader of the last day 1 flight, but by the time the end of Day 2 was reached, his once mighty stack had evaporated and he had busted out.
Anthony Aston was missing from the field as well by the time the day got called. Kristian Lunardi’s elimination was one of the more highlight-reel worthy ones of the day. He got his final chips into the middle on the very last hand of the day and he ran his A,K into an opponent’s pocket Qs for the classic coin-flip, contributing to the biggest pot of the
poker tournament thus far. No help came on the board for him, and he too was disposed of.
A total of 31 players survived the day. David Allan managed to build up the largest stack. David Zhao and Ricky Kroesen finished with healthy stacks too.
