There are three Big Blind ranges which qualify for the promotion: the Micro level is the $0.02/$0.2 one, the Medium level is the $0.21 to $1 one and the High level is the $2 - $20 one. Now then, here's what players need to accomplish in order to earn stars through the promotion: they have to play at the above said Blind levels, they have to reach the showdown with at least another player going up against them, who also shows down his cards and they obviously have to win the hand.
The sort of hand they win with makes a lot of difference though. The lowest qualifying hand is the three-of-a-kind, which is worth 1 star at the micro level, 2 at the medium one and 3 at the high level. A straight is worth 2, 4 and 6 points respectively. Flushes are worth 3, 6 and 9 points, and boats will earn 5, 10 and 15 points. A 4-of-a-kind will rack up 15, 30 and 45 points, while a straight flush is worth 100, 200 and 300 points. At the very top of the pops we have the royal flush, which is worth 500, 1,000 and 1,500 points, depending on the blind level.
When the cash prizes are issued, the star counts are rounded downward to the nearest multiple of 100.
