Biggest online poker pot record falls again

Despite the fact that it seems to continuously lose out to PokerStars whenever there’s a direct confrontation of some sort between the two sites,
Full Tilt Poker is obviously the more successful one when it comes to the pros that play there: many of them are absolute nutters, and they pretty much hog all the spotlight when it comes to hair raising play and out of this world pots.
It was only about a week ago that Swedish mystery player Isildur1 and Patrik Antonius set the world record for the biggest ever online poker pot. Now, the same pair blew that record away and took it well out of everyone’s reach. A PLO pot that the two played at Full Tilt Poker the other day, clocked in at $1.3 million.
Isildur1 was the catalyst of all that action again. Wherever he went, monster pots followed in his wake. He took on both Ivey and Antonius that day, and over $800k pots rained all over the place, with Isildur involved in five of them.
Things had been looking well on track for the record to fall on Friday already. In a session against Antonius, Isildur1 was already taking things to the limit. Two pots of $783k and 774k developed, which were both bigger than the previous record set by Di Dang and Tom Dwan.
The trend continued on Saturday when the record breaking pot came along. About 30 minutes after a $815k had gone down, the true monster awoke. Isildur1 picked up 9s,8h,7d,8d against Antonius’ Ah,Kh,Ks,3s. Isildur began the action with a $3,000 raise which Antonius quickly re-raised to $9,000. A couple of rounds of re-raises later, both players had $81k in the pot. The flop fell 5c,4s,2h and Antonius took the lead with a wheel. Isildur1 had an open ended straight too, and when Antonius fired a $91k bet into him on the flop, he made it $435,000. They both shoved all in eventually, creating a $1,356,947 pot – the like of which had never before been seen at any online poker table.
The 5h fell on the turn and the 9c on the river to bust Isildur1’s draw and to give the biggest ever
online poker pot to Antonius.
That didn’t stop Isildur1 though. He continued to play away and dropped several monster pots to Ivey and Antonius leading observers to believe he was nearing the end of his bankroll.
