On Monday, the three Main Events of
PokerStars’ 2013 SCOOP played down to their respective winners. The low tier Main Event featured a $109 buy-in, the medium tier tournament took $1,050 to enter and the high buy-in one cost $10.3k. The interesting thing about the three two-day Main Events was the fact that each and every one of them guaranteed a minimum prize-pool of $1 million. The High Main Event was obviously the one that drew the highest number of “name” competitors and the attention of the press. The event drew a starting field of 580 players, who created a prize-pool of $5.8 million. The pros ruled the tables through the two days of action and the final table turned out to be a pretty pro-heavy one as well.
The winner of the event was none other than
Full Tilt Poker’s Viktor Blom, who bested Noah Boeken heads-up. Needless to say, there were no deals made in the event at the top or anywhere else.
Blom picked up $1,096,200 for his efforts, together with the rather prestigious title. Boeken’s second place was worth $803.3k. Mike Telker was right there at the top as well: he finished 4th, picking up $446.6k for his efforts. He just managed to edge out Sergio Aido, who landed in 5th place. Aido’s reward was $313.2k.
Ravi Raghavan was there in the top 10 as well. His 6th place finish was worth $246.5k.
Some of the high profile players who took part just missed out on the top 10: Thiago Nishijima ended up in 11th place, picking up a handsome $69.6k. Justin Bonomo managed a deep run as well: he finished the
poker tournament in 17th place, good enough for $46.4k. Mark Radoja and Tom MacDonald made deep runs as well.
