Boris Becker to take on 6 PCA qualifiers

PokerStars certainly knows how to turn a good poker event into a great one, and the PCA (PokerStars Caribbean Adventure) will represent another opportunity to generate great hype around the game we all love.
As part of its online qualifying system, PokerStars will select 6 players and send them to Nassau in the Bahamas to take on former tennis and now poker legend Boris Becker in a game of ‘Battleship’ Poker. Those who manage to beat the German tennis champion will earn a seat in the $10,000 PCA Main Event, and all that will be required of them to get there is a walk across the room.

The ‘Battleship’ Poker game which decides who goes home and who goes over to the other room to play in the Main Event works like this: the online players shipped in by PokerStars will take a seat (one at a time) at the keyboard of a laptop which will be placed with its back to Boris Becker’s laptop, in the same way the “Battleship” board-game works. They will play online, but they’ll benefit from the luxury of being able to look their opponent in the eye. This way, the result will be a fast-paced online poker-like game which will retain all the positive features of both live an online poker.

Provided they all manage to beat Boris Becker at the ‘Battleship’ poker table, as many as 6 –players can win their way into the Main Event this way.
Some of the names of the participants have already been announced by PokerStars, and they include 1 American and 3 Canadians.
The PCA Main Event kicks off on January 5th and qualifiers can reach the Main Event in a variety of different ways. The above presented ‘Battleship’ promotion is just the tip of the iceberg.
PokerStars runs online qualifiers round the clock, qualifiers which feature a wide array of buy-ins. With a ton of skill and a little bit of luck, you’ll be able to win a seat in a PCA event for as little as $7.50 or 500 FPPs.
