Durrrr Challenge – Antonius and Dwan back at it

It took Antonius and Dwan only 24 hours following their last challenge session to convene for another round of $200/$400 PLO at Full Tilt Poker’s Challenge tables. This second online poker session occurred on Friday, when the two players put in another little over 3-hour long session, in which 892 hands were logged. With the first anniversary of the Durrrr Challenge less than 3 weeks away, the two are obviously under a little pressure to at least get things rolling.
Antonius might’ve fared much better against Isildur1 than Tom Dwan did, but in the Challenge series, the New Jersey Wonderkid’s domination is more and more apparent. Dwan ended this session with a profit too, making it the 3rd one in a row that he won and the 7th out of the last 8.
This time, Durrrr added a $199,442 profit to his already towering lead, taking his overall advantage over Antonius to $1,077, 932, quite possibly the biggest lead either of them has had so far.

Unlike in their last Challenge session, Dwan jumped to a lead right out the gate, and he never gave that lead up. The Finn did manage to make things a little more difficult for his opponent later on in the session, but that didn’t change the overall equation too much.
The fact that Dan had his thumb on the controls all along didn’t mean Antonius failed to land any punches. As a matter of fact, the Finn ended up taking down the session’s second biggest pot, a close to $190,000 monster.
It took Dwan about an hour to strike back, taking down the third largest pot of the session. The $160k whooper landed on Dwan’s lap when he hit deuces full of 6s on the turn, obliterating Antonius’ pocket rockets.

The biggest pot of the online poker session was a $192,830 one, which ended up in Dwan’s possession of course. The turn gave Antonius a two pair, which prompted him to shove all-in. Dwan made the call, and the card that landed on the river completed his straight draw to give him to the pot and to drive his opponent to the edge of despair.
The Challenge is currently about 64% done, but don’t let Antonius’s seemingly insurmountable deficit fool you. This Series has seen giant swings in much fewer hands than the remaining 36%.
