Dwan, Robl, Chan playing in Macau

Macau was a poker hot-spot last weekend, as it drew a whole bunch of poker professionals who showed up to play in the big cash game, the one featuring $1,300/$2,600 blinds against a selection of poker-playing Chinese businessman, on top of the APPTs Macau stop, the Main Event of which was won by PokerStars pro Randy Lew. For many, Phil Ivey’s sudden re-appearance at the green felt in the above said APPT Main Event came as a surprise, but he was probably in Macau for the big game – the tournament might’ve only been a side-attraction for him.
The big cash game, held at the StarWorld’s Poker King Club is probably quite fishy, at least as far as the Chinese businessmen’s camp is concerned, hence the overwhelming interest on the part of the various poker pros.

Besides Ivey, Tom Dwan, Johnny Chan, Andrew Robl and Guy Laliberte showed up in Macau too, together with Sam Trickett, James Bord and Peter Chan.
Andrew Robl certainly had a great time in Macau: according to some tweets of his, he won $2 million one night gambling, only to lose it all the following night. Some have since speculated however that he probably won/lost two million HKD$ instead of USD.
The fact that no cameras are allowed in Macau casinos and that those who take part in the big game aren’t particularly keen to share details, means that bits of information concerning who won/lost how much in these games are few and far between. Sometimes, some of those who gain access to the big game share a few details on one of the popular poker forums, but that’s about the only insight the poker world gains into these secretive proceedings.
One interesting detail is that Patrik Antonius has pretty much been banned from the game. Exactly why that is the case isn’t certain, but word has it he is too tight. Tom Dwan is rumored to be quite a bit down right now.
