The European Championship of
Online Poker sponsored by Titan Poker has wrapped up last Sunday with the $1.5 million GTD NL Holdem Main Event. I suppose it’s safe to say now, the series have been a resounding success. Out of the 14 events featured, only one failed to cover the guarantee, and two failed to exceed it, the rest of them all awarded bigger prize-pools than the guaranteed amount.
Event #10 was the cuckoo egg, as the $300+$20 6-max NL Holdem event only distributed a $283,500 prize-pool, quite a bit short of the $300k guarantee. That didn’t mean though that the winner of the poker tournament, lambonkers, didn’t have a nice payday. He pocketed $66,000 for his first place. Second place finisher, SevinR0 pocketed $36,000, while Versailles1er, who finished 3rd, took home $24,000.
A total of a 100 players got paid in this tournament, the last of them taking $450.
Event #11 which followed, barely managed to cover the guarantee too. The $200+$15 buy-in 6-max
Limit Holdem event awarded prizes out of a total pool of $100,000 eventually, which meant that player “IamHoTasFirE” did take down the money he’d counted on.
Day 12 followed though and the guarantee would be blown to smithereens once again. The field combined for a $310,000 prize-pool in this poker tournament (the relatively low $100+$9 buy-in attracted a large starting field), which meant that the ECOOP NL Holdem R/A title would end up in the hands of a very content winner.
Player “oivoivoivoi” had the honor of pocketing the lion’s share of this bad boy.
Event #13, the $400+$30 PL Omaha one managed to exceed the
Titan Poker guarantee too. Despite the relatively steep buy-in, players flocked to the new darling of online poker: the PL Omaha tables. Instead of the $100k initially offered for the guarantee, the tournament awarded $113,200. Player vuffer527 took down the top prize.
The last ECOOP event, the $1.5 million NL Holdem GTD (dubbed the Main Event) attracted a huge starting field too. The $1.5 million guarantee was exceeded by $76,500, thanks to the $1,500+$80 buy-ins that all participants contributed. Player “Shevmouse” walked away with the goods and with the bragging rights in this one. This wasn’t the first score for the Dutch player this year, as he’d won $44,100, $21,372 and $17,953 in various events before.
