EPT Barcelona - Day 3 report

112 players got back to the poker room of the Casino de Barcelona for the third day of the PokerStars
EPT’s main event. Needless to say, each and every one of these players wanted to be among the 24 that would be left alive at the conclusion of the day, having earned the right to move on to battle it out for the final table on day four. US professional Bryn Kenney started the day in the best position as far as that objective was concerned. He had a built up the largest stack of chips on the previous day, bellying up to the green felt behind a stack of 693,500 chips on day 3. He earned most of those chips thanks to the extra aggressive approach he had taken the day before, and having tasted success he wasn't about to change gears. He kept pushing forth and within the first few hands, he got all his chips into the middle twice. He won both those pots and he added 200,000 chips to his stack within the blink of an eye basically.
Having lived by the sword till about 8 PM, Kenney eventually died by the sword too. Guilty for his elimination was Thor Stang, who finally managed to catch the American red-handed in the middle of a bluff.
Bertrand Grospellier drew a lot of media attention during the early going, and sure enough he did deliver: he went from a short stack to about 400,000 chips, through an unbeatable combination of skill and luck.
Several other name pros had much worse fates though. Carlos Mortensen, Surinder Sunar and
PokerStars’ own Ruben Visser were all eliminated.
Day 1b chip leader Luis Rufas got by much better and he made the top 24 on a decent-size stack.
Giuseppe Pantaleo clinched the chip lead as the action wound down, taking a huge box off William Thorson.
