EPT Barcelona - day 5: Kent Lundmark wins

The 8 final table participants who locked horns on the final day of the
PokerStars EPT's Barcelona main event, were all from different countries. In the end, from this multinational confrontation it was Sweden's Kent Lundmark who emerged with the win, pocketing the €825,000 top prize, and grabbing the trophy.
The final table action got rolling at one o'clock and it only took 20 minutes for the first casualty to hit the rail. Francesco Notaro barely managed to sneak into the final day on a short stack and he decided early on to attempt a double-up by putting his tournament life onto the line with a K,Q against chip leader Giuseppe Pantaleo’s 6,6. He did get lucky that time, and emboldened by the thrust, he shoved all-in again a few hands later, holding A,K. Jesus Cortes Lizano made the call with a dominated ace-queen, but he proceeded to hit another queen on the river to turn the tables on Notaro.
Georgios Skotadis followed him to payout booth a good couple hours later. Skotadis ran his pocket tens into Thor Stang’s pocket jacks for the bust. Stang wouldn't be able to enjoy his newly acquired chips for long though, as he became the very next victim of the final table attrition. He picked up a king-queen and he ran it smack into Lundmark’s pocket 5s. The board didn't help him and he was out in 6th. Lundmark then proceeded to eliminate the start of the day chip leader, Giuseppe Pantaleo next.
Shander De Vries followed in 4th pace, his elimination setting the stage for a two-hour long 3-handed battle. Konstantin Puchov’s elimination in 3rd place put an end to that, pitting Lundmark against Lizano heads-up.
The two players battled back and forth for a while, but eventually Lundmark’s A,Q got the better of Lizano’s K,J in the final hand of the tournament.
