EPT Copenhagen Day 2 report

The European Poker Tour’s Danish stop is quickly turning into an all-European affair. Despite the fact that it had initially attracted a number of professional players from the other side of the Atlantic too, the
EPT Copenhagen reached the money bubble on Day 2 and guess what? Only European players were among the survivors at that time.
A field of a 184 took to the tables on Day 2, the survivors of two days of action which reduced the 462 player initial field to that number.
Day 2 lasted for only 7 levels before the money bubble burst and it was Norway’s Anders Langset who walked away with the chip lead at the end of the day, having mustered a 326,800 stack. The top spots were all dominated by “local boys” (Scandinavian players): Rasmus Nielsen finished 2nd on the provisional chip leader board with 254,700 chips, followed by Peter Hedlund in 3rd with 236,500 and Fredrik Boberg in 4th with 213,900. Tore Lagerborg finished the Day in 5th followed by Christian Saxin, Michael Aston and Martin Wendt. The last two spots in the top 10 went to Jens Kyllonen and Ramzi Jelassi.
The 326,800 chips certainly made a favorite out of Anders Langset, who now has a relatively healthy lead over his closest competitor Rasmus Nielsen. Other survivors of Day 2 were: Thor Hansen, Italy’s Andrea Benelli (the overall chip leader after Day1B), Frederik Hostrup and Marcus Lehman. Several big names left the
tournament on day 2, which overall proved to be a disaster for the
PokerStars contingent. The surviving team of Luca Pagano Martin Horecki, Isabelle Mercier and Noah Boeken all headed to the rail well short of the money bubble. The unluckiest player of the day was Andrew Feldman though, who finished 41st and thus became the bubble-boy of the event.
Annette Obrestad, who had a relatively fruitful Day 1 has also been eliminated, together with Arnaud Mattern, Ilari Sahamies and Danny Ryan.
