EPT Copenhagen – Day 3 report

The 73 players who showed up at the Casino Copenhagen for day 3 of the EPT’s Copenhagen stop all sought to advance to the final 3 tables as that was where the action would be called at the end of the day. Long known as an event dominated by Scandinavian players, the Copenhagen stop stayed true to its nature: at the end of the day, there were two Swedes at the top of the chip-counts: Per Linde, who managed to get the upper hand in a duel with compatriot Joel Nordquist. Both players had excellent Day 3s. Michael Tureniec, the start of the day chip leader, was quickly overtaken by both as they grabbed one significant pot after the other, straight out of the gates.
Linde took no prisoners early on. He locked horns with Team PokerStars Pro’s JP Kelly for a 800k chip pot and his pocket Ks held, to rid the field of a more than capable competitor and to push his stack over the 1 million mark. As Linde continued to add to his stack by pushing out some of the shorter stacks, Nordquist faded back into the field.
Florian Langmann on the other hand caught some timely pots to shoot into second place by the end of the day. Langmann, who had spent most of the day toiling away in the depths of the field, finished with more than 1.3 million chips to his name.

In order for the money bubble to burst, 9 players would have to go home empty-handed on Day 3. Josh Prager and Fernando Brito were among the unlucky 9. The bubble boy was Dennis Bjerregaard, whose pocket Qs failed to hold against an opponent’s A,K.
Johnny Lodden and Martin Jacobson also fell in the melee which followed the bursting of the money bubble.
Tureniec managed to survive the day, together with Juha Helppi and Surinder Sunar.
