EPT London High Roller – Jason Lavallee Wins

Saturday was a busy day for the live poker world: the EPT’s London stop yielded no fewer than two winners and the WSOP-E saw its first winner walk away with a title as well. The first of the
EPT London winners was Jason Lavallee, who took down the High Roller trophy, pocketing a $357.7k reward after about 5 hours of action on the last day of the
poker tournament.
As soon as the action kicked off, it became obvious that Lavallee was set to go all the way this time. 12 players returned, so the final table bubble still had to burst. The very first hand saw two players push all-in: Mark Teltscher of the UK went up against the Denmark’s Frederik Jensen. While Jensen’s pocket 5s managed to get the better of his opponent’s pocket rockets, he still faded away faster, becoming one of the first victims of the day, while Teltscher actually made the final table, even though he then became its first victim.
Teltscher was eventually rewarded with £44.7k for his efforts.
Jensen on the other hand was sent packing in 10th place, when he pushed all-in with pocket Qs against Dave Ulliott’s pocket rockets and failed to get lucky.
PokerStars’ Luca Pagano, a true EPT regular, was sent packing in 7th place, his share of the prize-pool £60.9k.
Pagano was followed to the rail by Ulliott himself, whose 6th place was worth £82.3k.
The next one to go was Tamal Kamer, followed by Carla Sabini, the start of the day chip leader, whose 4th place was good enough for £132.3k. The first player to cross the 100k mark was Kamer, who took home £106.1k.
Sorel Mizzi’s elimination in 3rd place set up the heads-up stage of the event between Simon Higgins and Jason Lavallee. The last hand of the evening saw Lavalle’s A,9 triumph over Higgins K,J.
