The second day of the EPT’s Loutraki Main Event saw
PokerStars’ own Toni Judet shoot to the top. Judet started the day second in chips and he put in a truly impressive effort to bag 288,200 chips at the end of the day.
The start of the day featured some excellent lineups at several tables. Table 19 was the most impressive in this respect: a whole collection of ‘name’ pros played there, including Jude Ainsworth, McLean Karr, Kenny Halaert and Rupert Edler. It didn’t take long for the table to be broken up though, but before it did, several illustrious named had hit the rail. Ainsworth and Karr were the ones responsible for the eliminations. They moved on to a table where Roberto Romanello and Jan Bendik played. Tom Marchese had won a seat at the same table online, but he was unable to attend, thus his stack was blinded down to naught.
Despite the tough match-ups, Karr, Ainsworth, Romanello and Elder all survived.
232 players bellied up to the table at the beginning of day 2, out of an original starting field of 336. At the end of Day 2, only 100 remained. The top prize is €347k.
Given the pro-heavy nature of the field, many ‘name’ players survived to return to action on Day 3. Jason Wheeler finished with a pretty healthy stack of 178,500 chips. Kevin MacPhee finished with a little over 130k. Team Pokerstars Pro’s Johnny Lodden managed to climb past the 100k mark too. David Peters fell short of that goal, but he still survived with 76.5k chips. Ana Marquez and David Vamplew survived as well, albeit on lesser stacks.
Jan Bendik bit the dust on Day 2, together with Mats Gavatin and Pierre Neuville. Jeff Sarwer hit the rail as well.
Zimnan Ziyard was the one who followed Judet on the provisional leader board with 238.9k chips. Fahredin Mustafov finished 3rd, followed by Robert Cezarescu in 4th.
