EPT Prague – Day 2 Report

462 players returned to action on the second day of the
EPT’s Prague Main Event. They were all aiming to at least make it past the money bubble, but after 6 levels of action, that goal fell beyond reach for at least half of them. 167 players managed to make it through the day. The one to finish with the largest stack was Iosif Beskrovnyy, who managed to bag 625.2k chips.
The field seemed to have adopted a rather aggressive general approach, which resulted in massive variance for a high number of players. Martin Hanowski from Germany was one the players positively impacted by that variance. He finished the day with a monster stack, which secured him second place on the provisional leader board.
Todd Terry didn’t have a bad run either. He started the day with a more than decent stack, and he managed to add tons more to it. He finished the day in 7th place, in possession of a 392.3k stack.
There were several
PokerStars pros left in the field after the two day 1 flights and many of these players managed to make it to day 3 too. Fabrice Soulier was one of them. The Frenchman finished 6th, behind a stack of 396.2k chips. Another PokerStars pro who made the top 10 was Christopher Brammer. He finished 8th, having accrued 389.9k chips. Other PokerStars pros who advanced on smaller stacks were Bertrand Grospellier, Ramzi Jelassi and Vincent van der Fluit.
Quite a number of “name” pros bit the dust on Day 2 too: Jake Cody, Craig McCorkell, Jason Mercier, Marcin Horecki, Tony Judet and Martin Finger were all eliminated.
With the money bubble set for 128th place, not all Day 2 survivors are guaranteed a payday. Day 3 will probably start off with a tight battle before the bubble.
