The FTOPS $5,200 high roller event came to a conclusion Sunday as the 50 remaining players sat down to their computers to settle the issue for good.
The massive Day 1 of
Full Tilt Poker's high roller event made certain that the winner would walk away with a more than handsome prize, and that made everyone’s palms itch as the game kicked off on Sunday. Soon players began dropping left and right as Scott Freeman left the event in 35th place, Shaun Deeb in 28th, Chris Lee in 27th and Jim Kilarjian in 12th.
Adam Levy made it to the final table, together with 8 more obscure online participants like: the best woman, gboro750, Egarim, utreg, Wu_Wizard, fyrtuk, Gordon Vayo, and donivan31. The short-stack was gboro750, and he became the first victim of the final table hostilities, as he shoved all-in on a pair of 8s against donivan31’s A,10h. The board gave the latter a pair of 10s which sealed the short-stack’s fate.
Gboro750’s elimination opened the valves, and Egarim followed him to the rail after only a few hands. He tangled with Gordon Vayo on a A,9 vs J,J match-up and though he too hit a full house on the river, he failed to top Gordon Vayo’s Ks full of Js.
Gordon Vayo’s bid didn’t last for much longer either, as he was the next player to head to the rail. Donivan31 was eliminated in 6th place by fyrtuk.
Adam Levy took care of utreg next, as his Ah,Jh hit a flush on the flop. That move gave Levy the chip lead heading into the 4-handed stage. He took a big hit from fyrtuk but remained in the books.
Wu_Wizard was eliminated in 4th place, when he was bounced by fyrtuk who thus began to build a serious stack for the heads-up stage.
The best woman was bounced in 3rd, and the inevitable heads-up stage between Adam Levy and fyrtuk commenced. Despite the almost 5-1 chip lead that fyrtuk possessed in the beginning, Levy hung on and managed to double up once. The inevitable did come about eventually though, when Levy’s 10,10 succumbed to fyrtuk’s Q,Q on a aboard which gave the latter a set on the flop.
