FTOPS Event #2 (PLO) report

The eleventh edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series is underway, with Event #2, the $240+$16 PL Omaha Hi/Lo one already having found a winner.
The relatively low buy-in and the great possibilities offered by such online events drew a crowd of 1,428 players which meant that the prize-pool reached a pretty high amount as well, with the winner being allotted a sum of $61,404.

At the end of a day of online hostilities, the final table was set. Martin Klaser finished in 52 place and Kevin Tanner in 23rd to lead the list of ‘notable’ players.
The final table players were: Fantomex, Chessmanrus, ray918273, gamfreak237, ramagem, Carzyhorse76 (Bill Slaight Jr), lauraj111, another_rack and OUEmoKid.
The short-stack was Fantomex, though the first victim of the final table was lauraj111 who came out on the short end of a tussle with ray918273, who made a high on the hand with no qualifying low present. The 9th place finish meant 3,998 from lauraj111.

Ramagem got Cazyhorse76 all-in a couple of levels later to knock him out too, which meant that the original short-stack, Fantomex had managed to survive two players. His luck would soon run out though, as he became the next victim of the final table. It still took the combined efforts of Chessmanrus and Ramagem to put him out of commission as the two checked down a hand in which Fantomex had gone all-in. Chessmanrus hit a full house on the river eventually to send Fantomex packing.

It was ramagem who disposed of ray918273 next though, as his wheel made short work of the latter’s flush draw (which failed to fill up anyway).
Gamfreak237 was added to the list of eliminations next by another_rack, followed to the rail by OUEmoKid.
Another_rack was the last player to attempt to stop the duo of ramagem and Chessmanrus, he too was denied however, knocked out in 3rd.

The heads-up battle between ramagem and Chessmanrus started with the former holding a solid chip lead over the latter. He wasted little time in hammering his edge home, and made a set of Ks on a board which failed to produce a valid low in the final hand of the event.
