FTOPS XXII – Day 14 Report

The 14th day of Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS XXII crowned two more champions and it saw a third event kick off. The event which didn’t play down to a winner was event #34, the $2.1k NL Holdem one, which is indeed a rather high-profile online poker encounter. Accepting multiple entries, event #34 saw 776 buy-ins go into the prize-pool. Needless to say, the field was a pretty pro-heavy one. At the end of the first day of action, 84 players remained standing. –GROMOV DMITRY- from Russia finished the first day with the largest stack. His stack of 166k chips was only slightly bigger than Kevin Eyster’s 160k chip one, enough for second place.
petgamingSP finished third, followed by Ronald Lee in 4th place.

Event #35 was the first one of the day which actually played down to a winner. The $216 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event drew a starting field of 247 players, generating a prize-pool of $49.4k (the original guarantee of the event was $35k).
There weren’t any deals made at the top: the winner, Ruslan5051 (presumably from Russia) took down the only 5-figure prize of the tournament: $12.8k.
A player known as Lincson finished second, taking down $8.1k. Clayton Newman was one of the highest finishing notables. His 26th place was worth $296.

Event #36, the $109 NL Holdem Rush even with Re-buys, was responsible for the second champion of the day. The event saw 726 players belly up to its virtual tables, blowing clean past the $250k initial guarantee. Manechka won the tournament, taking down the $68.8k top prize without having made any sort of deals with the other top finishers.
Ponyo88 finished second, pocketing $43k. Jeremy Fitzpatrick was the deepest finishing “name” player: he took down 18.6k for his 5th place. David Wamplew made the top 10 as well: he finished 9th for $5.1k.
