The 15th day of
Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS XXII was the last one of the series. It was the day that saw the Main Event wrap up and crown a winner. A total of 3 events wound down on Sunday, beginning with event #34, the $2.1k
NL Holdem Six-Max Re-entry event, which saw 776 players belly up to its tables, despite its high roller status.
The resulting prize-pool was a $1,552,000 one, which meant that the winner would pick up $333.6k. Given that the majority of the participants were well-bankrolled pros, it didn’t come as a surprise that there was no deal struck at the top. The winner, Kevin Eyster, edged out
online poker buff Sammi Kelopuro heads-up. The runner-up’s share of the loot was $218.8k.
A player known as “kytra” finished 3rd, for $157.2k. VeniVidiKlonki was the last 6-figure finisher in 4th.
Event #37, the $256 NL Holdem six-Max Knockout one, saw a massive starting field of 3,712 players belly up to the tables. There weren’t any deals made in this event either: KaKeTKa finished on top, taking down the $126.6k top prize. Tom MacDonald was the one who fell during the heads-up stage of the event: his second place was worth $83.2k.
Mike Telker made a deep run in this event too: he finished 4th for a $43.5k reward.
Event #38, the $640 NL Holdem one, was the Main Event of the series. 3,653 players bellied up to the tables of this poker tournament, creating a prize-pool of $2,191,800, quite a bit bigger than the advertised $2 million guarantee.
A player known as “feel fine” won the event, taking home the $392.3k prize. There weren’t any deals made at the top: the runner-up, Javier Etayo, took home $271.7k for his efforts. No other “name” players finished in the top 10.
