FTOPS XXII – Day 4 Report

The 4th day of Full Tilt Poker’s immensely popular FTOPS XII yielded three more champions. The first event to crown a winner on day 4 was the $256 PLO Knockout event, which offered a $75k guarantee. The 531 players who bellied up to the tables of the poker tournament however, created a prize-pool of $106.2k. After a heads-up deal at the top, the winner of the event, “speedgrinder” walked away with a $22.4k prize. The share of the runner-up was $20.6k. Third-place man Rattled77 took home $11.9k as none of the other players finished with 5-figure hauls. The top-finishing notable was Carter Swidler, who collected a rather mellow $902 for his 14th place.

Event #10, the $322 NL Holdem 6-max Rebuy one, was responsible for the biggest winner of the day. The tournament offered a $250k guarantee, enough to lure over no fewer than 385 players. Thus, the resulting prize-pool exceeded the guarantee by quite a bit, settling at the $350.7k mark. There were no deals made in this event, which meant that the eventual winner, TJ Ulmer, wouldn’t see his top prize slighted in any way. Ulmer bested Toby Lewis heads-up. Lewis collected $53.3k for his efforts. Another high-finishing notable was Joris Ruys, who picked up $13.3k for his 6th place. Patrick Renkers missed out on the final table, finishing 8th for an $8.7k reward.

Event #11, the $216 NL Holdem Rush Super Turbo one, was the third one of the day. It offered a guarantee of $100k. A total of 759 players bellied up to its tables, generating a prize-pool of $157.k, once again putting the guarantee to shame.
No deals were made in this event either: the winner, KaKeTKa, took home a $37.7k prize. The runner-up was Karolis Grybauskas, who pocketed $23.5k.
