FTOPS XXII – Day 7 Report

The 7th day of Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS XXII delivered its usual yield: 3 more champions added to the tally.
Event #16, the $535 NL Holdem heads-up event, offered a guarantee of $100k. 263 players bellied up to the tables of the poker tournament, generating a prize-pool of $131.5k. The last two players struck a heads-up deal, which left the eventual winner, SATORI1985, with a prize of $25.8k.
Ivan Sheptyskyi finished second, scooping up a $24.8k prize. The event was full of “name” competitors, so it didn’t really come as a surprise that Brian Roberts finished 3rd, followed by Jonathan Karamalikis in 4th. Both players picked up $9.5k for their efforts. Brian England made the top 10 as well: he finished 7th for $4.9k. Other deep-finishing notables were Pratyush Buddiga (who finished 15th for $2.6k) and Jason Koon, whose 16th place was worth $2.6k too.

Event #17, the $322 Six-Max PLO Hi Triple Chance one, offered a $100k guarantee as well. 459 players took part in this one, creating a prize-pool of $137.7k. There weren’t any deals made in this event: the winner, hopaneng, took home the full share of the top finisher, which tipped the scale at $30.2k. The runner-up was Nick Petrangelo. His share of the prize-pool was $19.9K. Noah Kelly made a nice deep run in the event too: he finished 3rd, picking up $14.4k for his 3rd place.

Event #18 was a NL Holdem Rush Tournament, which – quite uncharacteristically – failed to cover its guarantee. Thus, the 214 participants did battle for exactly $50k. paula35 won the event, taking down the $13k top prize. StoneFace007 finished second, for $8.2k. Quite a few notables finished deep in the event too: Daniel Chaulet finished 3rd and Jason Koon finished 6th. Dylan Linde made the top 10 as well.
