FTP Montreal Main Event – Day 2 Report

The second day of Full Tilt Poker’s Montreal Main Event saw the field play down to fewer than 100 players. Jeremie Trepanier was the one who finished with the largest stack: he had 1.78 million chips bagged, largely due to a massive 1.3 million chip pot he took down during the 19th level of the action.
The hand in question saw him take advantage of a perfect hand situation: he made the nut flush against another player who also had a flush.
Brian Wright finished second with 1.67 million chips, followed by Josh Kimmel in 3rd, with 1.63 million. Maxime Laberge also finished with a decent stack: 1.58 million chips.
A few “name” pros also reached the final 85:
PokerStars’ Victor Ramdin was one of them. New
Full Tilt Poker representatives Martins Adeniya and Dermot Blain also made the cut.
While Adeniya had a pretty good Day 2, Ramdin spent much of his day struggling. At one point towards the end of the day, he found himself down to his last 11 BBs. He managed to rebound though, doubling up and eventually finishing with 522k chips.
Adeniya, who contended for the chip lead for the better part of the day, made some uninspired bluffs towards the end, and thus he finished with only 198k chips. Blain didn’t do better either: he finished with 223k. Guillaume Rivet, one of the day 1 chip leaders, also made the cut, together with Vinny Pahuja – another of the early chip leaders.
Of all the players who busted out on Day 2, Blake Tarbell was the unluckiest: he was sent packing on the bubble by Henri Balcazar.
Antonio Esfandiari was also one of the players sent home without anything to show for his efforts. Full Tilt Poker’s Gus Hansen was sent packing before the money-bubble too.
Play at Full Tilt Poker. You won’t find better cash game action anywhere, and their live event qualifiers aren’t shabby either.
