Full Tilt Poker Hearing Postponed

Poker players who have money at Full Tilt Poker have certainly been looking forward to the day of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission hearing, ever since the poker site’s operations ground to a halt on June 29, if for no other reason than to finally find out something certain about the fate of their monies.
Unfortunately for these players, not much perspired regarding the case during the hearing. The bottom line was basically that lawyers representing the site and AGCC representatives have privately agreed to postpone the hearing till September 15. While the move has indeed enraged some of the players’ representatives who were present at the hearing (and some of whom had to be escorted out having become too vocal), the move may yet be in the benefit of the players, as the adjourning will provide the company with precious time to continue negotiations aimed at finding an investor that may prove to be the only way out of the predicament for
Full Tilt Poker and for its players alike. Such negotiations are allegedly already underway, although nothing concrete has yet emerged in that regard.
One thing that the public did learn during the hearing was that Full Tilt Poker owed the AGCC around £250k in licensing fees, which it decided not to pay assuming that it was going to lose its AGCC license. According to Martin Heslop, a member of the legal team representing Full Tilt Poker, the company would be glad to make the payment within a week if they learnt that there was still a chance they would get their license back.
It took the commission an entire day of deliberation to arrive to the above said conclusion.
Harry Demetriou, a professional poker player who attended the hearing, lost it when he heard about the adjourning and he began to scream about the interests of the players, questioning the commission about why it was protecting “this corrupt company”.
