The swings at the nosebleed stakes cash tables at
Full Tilt Poker are often quite otherworldly, and no one could attest to that better than Gus Hansen, although his swings have mostly been southward one for quite a while now. The player, currently best known as the biggest online cash game loser of the year, finally managed to put together a highly profitable run though, finishing an outstanding 2-day run with a profit of around $1.2 million.
The swingy nature of the business was obvious for the Great Dane even in victory however. He started off on Sunday, looking to forget about his previous week’s losses as soon as possible, and he did just that: after 18 sessions totaling 1,465 hands, he was sitting some $546.6k in the black. The players from whom Hansen’s profits came were Phil Ivey, Alexander Kostritsyn, Hac Dang and Alex Luneau. Patrik Antonius and samrostan were also among Hansen’s victims to some degree.

On Monday, the Great Dane returned to the tables, set on repeating his Sunday run. He achieved quite a bit more than that: when the day was over, having played 2,359 hands spread over 15 sessions, he was sitting with profits totaling some $692k. The 2-7 Triple Draw tables seemed the most favorable for him on Monday.
Having finished as the biggest winner of the day for two consecutive days, Hansen fell off a cliff on Tuesday, when he gave back some $756.2k of his previously accrued profits. Still, after three days of action, his $482.2k have kept him in the biggest winner of the week position. Whether he’ll be able to hang on to it till the end of the week, remains to be seen…
