High stakes online poker action – Isildur1 back on the felt

Nothing shows Isildur1’s influence on the flow of high stakes cash games at Full Tilt Poker better than fact that for the few days he was absent from the tables, following the huge hit he’d taken from Hastings, action had slowed down quite significantly.
The Swede’s hiatus came to an end on Monday. Though he had been forced to move down the stakes again, the action around Isildur1 was as hot as ever. It all began on the $50/$100 PLO tables, where he took on Cole South. At the end of that session, Isildur1 was about $82k in the black. He needed to go but promised South he’d be back later for some $100/$200 action.
He did indeed return and got down to business, taking on South, Justin Bonomo, Tom Dwan and Phil Galfond, all of them heads-up. The Swede managed to relieve South of a further $27k. He hit Bonomo for $200k, but dropped money to Dwan and Galfond: $85,000 and $32,000.
The biggest hand of this session came about at the $300/$600 PLO tables, between Isildur1 and Phil Galfond. The preflop stage of the hand saw Galfond three-bet the action to $5,400. The Swede made the call and the flop fell Qd,9d,9h. Galfond fired out another $4,800 bet, and Isildur1 called him. The turn fell a 6d prompting Galfold to check.
Isildur1 seized his chance to take control and fired out a $14,600 bet which Galfond promptly called. The river was the 5d and Isildur1 shoved all-in. Galfond called him and showed down Qs,Qc,9c,4h for the nut boat. The monster weighed in at $140,996.

Together with Gus Hansen, Sami Kelopuro was one of the biggest losers of the past year. Last week though, things started to click for the Finn again. Having gone down to lower stakes, he took on URnotINdanger2, from whom he won around $33k. He then proceeded to hit Isaac Haxton for $39k. The biggest pot of the week was a $242,400 one, which Ilari Sahamies collected on one of Cole South’s failed bluffs. Sahamies’ middle pair was enough to make short work of South’s busted gutshot straight draw.

The biggest winners of the week were harrington25, POKERBLUFFS and geoff7878. Kostritsyn, South and Gus Hansen made the biggest losers’ list.
