The shops are full of cuddly toys, the television is advertising soppy movies, and all singles are thinking “should I, shouldn’t I?” – It’s nearly Valentines Day, and Ladbrokes is celebrating.
February is a cold month which is why we must be eternally grateful to St Valentine for bringing us a bit of warmth in the shape of a day for love. Ladbrokes is embracing that love by playing the matchmaker and distributing cash along the way.
The special Ladbrokes Valentines poker promotion will be held on Thursday February 11th, and it’s a €1,000 freeroll, but with a difference. The top female and the top male finisher of the tournament will be invited to take place in a special February 14th Heads-up tournament. Ladbrokes are really trying to play the matchmaker here, and who knows it might just work; it would certainly be a great story to tell the grandkids! The winner of the heads up tournament will win a cash prize of €500 as well as an all expenses paid trip to Paris for two. The winner will of course be allowed to take who ever they wish on the trip, but not before they get asked in public if they would like to take their Heads-Up opponent. If love can’t blossom under these circumstances then when can it!
The name of the €1,000 poker freeroll is Free Love, and it will be held at 19:00 GMT on February 11th. The final is called Valentines Heads Up and will begin at 17:00 GMT on the 14th; whether you’re a contender or a spectator, this may be worth tuning in for – fireworks may just start flying!
