Microstakes Spin and Gos Hit Spain, France

PokerStars have been looking to cover as wide a range of buy-ins and prize-pools with their Spin and Gos lately as possible and indeed, they have expanded in both directions in this respect. A little while ago, they started offering $100 Spin and Gos featuring a maximum prize of $300k. Thus far, two Hungarian players have walked away with massive monies from these tables. The latest Spin and Go innovation has seen the buy-ins head into micro-stakes territory, more precisely to the €0.25 buy-in level. For now, such Spin and Gos are only available for French and Spanish players though, but it is clear that it is indeed the right move to make in order to get more recreational players involved in the Spin and Go action.
Sign up to PokerStars right now and take their new micro-stakes Spin and Go tables for a test-spin!

Spin and Gos have indeed been extremely popular ever since their introduction last year. The lottery-based prize-pool allocation is apparently a welcome element of suspense in the game, rather than a gambling one, as the system is set up in a way that players never feel cheated. The speed and the betting structure of the Spin and Go tournaments is also rather attractive: the 3-person hyper-turbo format makes it possible for players to jump into a game and be done with it in a reasonable amount of time, while the possibility of a life-altering prize-pool is always in the air.
The new micro-stakes games feature a slightly bigger rake than the "regular" ones. The rake on the regular Spin and Gos is in the 4-7% range, while on the new micro-stakes games, it is 8%. For the time being, the games are in test-mode for the site, meaning that they are slated to be available till September 30 only, although that may change.
Play at PokerStars and give the new micro-stakes Spin and Gos a go if you can. They do indeed make a very interesting proposition for recreational players!
