Moorman Crosses $10 million Mark

A couple of days ago, we ran a story about UK poker pro Chris Moorman’s efforts to cross the $10 million mark in lifetime
online poker tournament winnings, and we’re already back with what can only be described as the happy ending of that story. Indeed, as anticipated, Moorman managed to hit the magical milestone (as hard-to-grasp as it may seem) not through
PokerStars’ WCOOP, but by winning a $215 buy-in tournament at
PartyPoker on Saturday, and taking down the top prize of $9.5k.
Moorman said that he intended to reach the landmark number in one of the WCOOP events, but he’s probably just as happy with his PartyPoker win. The UK pro’s achievement is a truly monumental one in every respect. Not only is no one even close to matching his $10 million any time soon, there aren’t even online players out there to have made more than $7.5 million.
Moorman said that despite the fact that he did not cross the $10 million mark in a WCOOP event, he was glad to have done it in style: through a victory. With the milestone mark so close, there was a real risk he would cross it through a set of minimum cashes rather than through a victory, a possibility he managed to avoid.
Having reached his goal, Moorman is not about to sit back: he said he intended to play in the WCOOP Main Event on Sunday, and that he was looking forward to starting up his next $10 million chase.
Currently in Mexico, Moorman has other things lined up besides the endless grind: he plans to launch a new interactive website which will feature blog posts of his on a bi-weekly basis. Obviously, the site will showcase personal videos and photos of his too, offering everyone a more personal glimpse into the life of the most decorated online poker player ever.
