PokerStars sure do get around, but only in the best possible way. PokerStars have just announced both an added stop in an already existent tour and a whole new tour.
The Latin American Poker Tour has become an established element of the poker calendar but this year it will include another stop, one that PokerStars has just added. This year the LAPT will make its inaugural stop in Lima, Peru which will be the first major televised poker tournament to ever be held in the city. This new stop will be held in the Atlantic City Casino from June 2nd to 5th, and the Main Event will have a buy-in of $2,700. The main event has a player cap of 450 players and there will be 2 days of Super Satellites before the tournament gets underway on June 3rd. Leaving the Latin American Poker Tour aside, however, there is even bigger news on the European side of the Atlantic.
PokerStars has announced a whole new poker series – the France Poker Series. The new poker series will include seven stops in total each of which will likely have a €1,200 buy-in and the tour will come to a grand conclusion in the Paris where the Grand Final will be held. Each of the tournaments will have a guaranteed prize pool of €300,000 and each Main Event winner will also be guaranteed a seat in the Paris Grand Final. The first event of the series will be held in Beaulieu-ser-Mer and will start on May 1st. From there the next stop will be Divonne-les-Bains in September, and then Sain-Amandles-Eaux in October. Towards the end of the year there will be a stop in Lyon and Forge-Les-Eaux. The events will of course attract some of the biggest poker players including Team PokerStars France members such as Vanessa Rousso, Arnaud Mattern, and Thomas Bichon; and if you’d like to join them in the France Poker Series you can play in qualifiers already running at PokerStars.
