NAPT Los Angeles – Day 4 report

Day four of the NAPT’s Los Angeles Main Event was an extremely brief one. After all, the goal was for the 19 returning survivors to play down to eight who would then lock horns at the final table the following day. That goal was achieved in a little over four hours.
Chris DeMaci was the one who came into the day with the largest stack of chips. Throughout day 4, he managed to preserve his advantage, and when the action was called, he was still the one sitting in the top spot.
Start of the day large stack Micah Rashkin didn't do nearly as well though. As a matter of fact, he couldn't possibly have played any worse on day four. Going from hero to zero in record time, Rashkin was the first one to bite the dust. Chris DeMaci was the one responsible for his demise, his A,10o no match for Rashkin’s pocket 6s during one of the early hands. That chip-up gave DeMaci over 6 million chips to begin the day with.
The eliminations trickled slowly till 16th place was reached, when things sped up a little. Within just a couple of hands, the field was down to 13. Matt Affleck, forced to make a move by his quickly vanishing stack, put his tournament life onto the line, holding a lowly A,2o. Chris DeMaci was all over him with a dominating A,10, and the field was down to 12.
George Lind III was the next player to see a title dreams go up in smoke. Jason Mercier pitched into the culling of the herd by eliminating Jimmie Guinther in 11th.
Alan Myerson was the next one to hit the payout queue, setting up the official final table through his departure.
Chris DeMaci will start the final day with an overwhelming chip lead. Jason Mercier will be there as well, together with fellow
PokerStars Pro Anh Van Nguyen.
