New Jersey’s Online Gambling Boom Continues

In New Jersey, online gamblers and poker players have been busy opening accounts at the various operators since the start of legal online gambling/poker in the state, and apparently, the trend is not about to slow down. More and more accounts are being created each week, and according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the total number of online gaming accounts has surpassed the 125k mark. The actual number provided by the DGE was 126,231, which pretty much meant that over the last week of their tracking period, a total of 16.28k accounts had been created.
On November 26, 2013, New Jersey became the third state to legalize online poker, and thus far it looks like it is indeed the state with the most successful launch. A total of seven operators are currently competing for the attention and the gambling dollars of the public, but the selection does not include
PokerStars, the world’s largest
online poker operator.
It only took the Garden State public a week to register more than 50k accounts, and over the following three weeks, 75k more have been added to that tally. Despite their impressive nature, the numbers aren’t particularly relevant when it comes to determining the exact number of actual players sifting through the system. Individual players have probably created accounts at multiple sites, so that skews the number quite a bit, along with some other factors.
The players aren’t the only party keeping busy fueling the Garden State’s online gaming boom though.
PartyPoker have just announced the launch of their mobile app in New Jersey, the first such application, which will play right into the hands of Garden State residents long itching to play online poker on their mobile devices like people in every civilized country have been able to play for quite some time now.
