Talk about hitting the ground running! No sooner has Irish Poker Championship winner Jude Ainsworth joined the PokerStars Pro team and he's being put to work.
You dream of making a name in a big championship, maybe winning a few hundred thousand dollars in online poker tournaments like the 2009 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, or €145,000 in the Irish Poker Championship, and you dream of being sent away to glorious, exotic, exciting locations having been snapped up by a high profile poker site's pro team. Well, for Jude Ainsworth, Galway may be exciting due to his huge win there last year, but as his home town, one has to ask, is that really what he dreamt of as a first stop as part of the PokerStars Pro Team!
As it turns out, it may actually be the case that the answer would be yes; Ainsworth commented
"I'm really looking forward to competing in the UKIPT and being part
of such an exciting tour…Undoubtedly the event I'm looking forward
to is the return to my hometown Galway."
And of course this time he will be taking part as a PokerStars Pro, so it seems that yes, this is exactly what he dreamt of. Other PokerStars team members that are expected to put in a show at the inaugural UKIPT first event include Vickey Coren and ex English Soccer star Teddy Sheringham.
